When Shane Boucher went to Las Vegas last fall, with him he brought a Stretch Serpent head from a toy he had in his childhood growing up in Crookston. The Stretch Serpent came from the same family of toys that brought us Stretch Armstrong, among others.
Why would a grown man bring the head from a toy to Las Vegas? Well, as a fan of the TV show “Pawn Stars” on the History Channel, Shane figured it was the perfect pawn item to get him on the show. And he was right. On last night’s episode, Shane appeared calm, cool, and collected as he bartered with Corey. Chumlee was nearby to add his insightful commentary. And while Shane didn’t get as much for the Serpent Head as he would have liked, he did say the experience was worth it. He left with $500 but at the end of the show it was revealed by “a buddy of mine that knows a lot about this” that the head was probably worth closer to $4,000 to $6,000.
No worries for Shane though. He left with some cash and a story that will last for a lifetime.
what makes this head so valuable when one can buy the entire toy on ebay for 65.00?
Try $12500….
$65? Think again, moron.
