Look Alike

As you may recall, one of my hobbies is to take pictures of people who look like famous people.  Its been awhile since I’ve added to my collection.  And it’s not because I haven’t been trying.  I’ve actually been pretty desperate, but I feel I owe it to the loyal readers to only deliver the very best look alikes.  And as is usually the case, the best ones happen when I least expect it.  On the way in to the Twins game on Saturday, my friend said, “Hey look, it’s Zygi Wilf.”  Wilf is the owner of the Minnesota Vikings.  I quickly turned around to see “Zygi” standing on a street corner with his wife, negotiating with a “ticket broker” for two Twins tickets.  That was my first clue that it really wasn’t Zygi.  Seems like Zygi would be able to get Twins tickets in a more dignified manner.  Undeterred, I headed straight towards him and his wife and said, “Excuse me, has anyone ever told you that you look like Zygi Wilf?”  In stereo, he and his wife answered, “All the time.”  He then told me a story about how he recently had been at a function where a guy came up to him and told him that he hoped the Vikes could bounce back from the heartbreaking loss in last year’s NFC Championship game.  To his credit, Fake Zygi didn’t correct him and carried on a conversation with the guy.  Meanwhile, “Mrs. Zygi” was regaling my friends with other tales, saying that at least once a day someone stops him and asks him if he’s Zygi Wilf.  At this point, a photo was in order.

“Zygi” (L), Me (R)

Real Zygi

And now for the rest of the story.  Over the course of the next three hours, we ended up running into “Zygi” THREE times at Target Field.  Twice he stealthily approached me and started talking about possible trades the Vikings could make, including a deal to get Vincent Jackson.  I am not making this up.  40,000 people at the game and a Zygi Wilf look alike was stalking me.  Maybe I need a new hobby.
